Ian R Crane is a veteran of a 20-year career in international oilfield services, which provided him with the opportunity to live and work in the Middle East (including during Gulf War One), mainland Europe and the USA. His experiences have led him to his current work in exposing the many layers of global deception. Having chaired the British 9/11 Truth Campaign for two years, Ian moved on to his now ongoing series of lectures and event-organising, including this spring's The Alternative View conference in Totnes. Horace Drew grew up in Florida during the 1960s and 70s, then took a Ph.D in Chemistry at Caltech in 1981, where he did several of the first high-resolution x-ray structures of DNA. He then spent five years between 1982-1987 doing post-doctoral research on DNA and chromosomes at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge. He moved to Australia in 1987 and has lived there ever since. Later in the 1990s he began to do DNA forensic research as a private hobby with UFO investigator Bill Chalkler. Linda has lived in Glastonbury for the last seven years, working in the voluntary, public and private sectors. Based in the Netherlands, Eltjo Haselhoff is 'somewhat of a renaissance man'. He has published dozens of articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, such as Optics Communications and The Physical Review, and, in 2001, suggested the involvement of 'balls of light' in crop circle formation in the scientific journal Physiologia Plantarum. Jay Goldner is an Austrian researcher in the field of the paranormal and author of half a dozen books, including Messages from Space concerning the Chilbolton crop circles. Following a career as a research engineer in the silicon chip industry, Robin became a senior lecturer in mathematics and engineering at various colleges, including the Royal Aircraft Establishment. From 1971, he was a leading activist in the Gay Liberation Front in London, and Peter was the defeated Labour candidate in the 1983 Bermondsey by-election. He co-founded the queer rights group OutRage! in 1990, leading to his much-acclaimed work in all areas of human rights. In 1999, in London, Peter ambushed the motorcade of the Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe, in attempting a citizen's arrest on charges of torture. A repeat attempt in Brussels in 2001 resulted in Peter being beaten unconscious by Mugabe's bodyguards. Over two decades ago, he warned of the dangers of climate change, resource depletion, species extinction and environmental degradation. Peter was voted the sixth greatest 'Hero of our Time' by readers of New Statesman in 2006, and in the same year The Independent listed him as one of top 50 'Good' people in Britain. Peter is also the Green Party parliamentary candidate for Oxford East. ID Cards and the Surveillance StateMany people are concerned at the ever-increasing government-sanctioned invasions of privacy in British society. In this presentation, Peter will expose the underhand methods being used to sell the concept of expensive and much open-to-abuse biometric ID cards to the public, and question why Britain has more CCTV cameras and surveillance systems than any other nation in the world. In his powerful style, Peter will inform and inspire the audience as to what can be done about these and other related developments, encouraging people to stand up for their rights - while they still can.
