Jason Porthouse is a longstanding member of the croppie community, having joined the Sussex crop circle group in 1992. He's had a lifelong interest in all things metaphysical and mysterious, having been brought up in a household where 'spiritual' beliefs were the norm. The arrival of the crop circle phenomenon, along with joining a psychic development group run by Paul Bura, sparked a much more active role in exploring the mysteries of our world. Jason is a keen dowser and occasional meditator ('must try harder!'). Back in the 'real' world, Jason is an Emmy award-winning TV editor whose work ranges from short films to BBC's Panorama. He lives on the Somerset Levels with his partner Di (co-organiser of the Symposium) and four cats.
PRESENTATION: Middle Earth - Crop Circles, Liminal Spaces and the Mess We're in
Jason takes a look at the role crop circles play in helping us to reflect on the challenges that face us. For many people, humanity stands on the cusp between two worlds - the old order of materialistic living and a new, as yet undefined reality. Living in this middle ground can be difficult, though - as certainties break down and new possibilities arise, beliefs become polarised and prejudices entrenched. Can lessons from the circles help us on our journey through these testing times?

Jackie has a life-long interest in how landscape features reflect higher geometries and energies that can be observed, understood and worked with to facilitate the current planetary evolution. She has spent the last eleven years writing books relating to her tours of sacred sites that form part of the intricate 'Metatronic' evolving earth (and off-planet) grids that resonate with the 'Reshel', a little known and very sacred metascience that organises, supports and creates new creational energies. There are many applications to the Reshel, including crop circle formations, the common purpose being to align with specific geometric formats so that the higher intelligences guiding the evolution of the cosmos can interact with human consciousness.
Jackie has spoken to many interested groups on the applications of the Reshel, especially with regard to Rosslyn Chapel (for which she was the original external guide). Jackie's book Arks within Grail Lands attempts to explain how inner and outer worlds inter-relate in the light of the Reshel knowledge system.
PRESENTATION: The Higher Purpose of Earth Grids and Crop Circles in the South West of England
Jackie says: "I discovered the earth grids via William Buehler's work following my quest to understand the spiritual function and purpose of grids. He called the sacred knowledge the 'Reshel', which worked with specific geometries that facilitated the Inner Planes masters who guide our planetary evolution. A visit in 2004 to Colorado helped me understand that the knowledge was gained and applied within meditation formats that were not a religion but a meta-science based on the creational codes in ancient scriptures, to affect the evolution of consciousness of our planet and those who dwell within it - a service known as 'synergy light process'. When I visited the Avebury area in 2008 I learnt that the alignments of the crop circles within the area formed patterns that augmented that which was already known about the area. If certain crop circles were placed on certain nodes using the Reshel system we could interpret why the circle was there and what it was doing. The actual sitings of circles are highly significant."
Jackie will also outline her work with Rosslyn Chapel, the Knights Templars and important sacred sites such as Stonehenge.

Ian is a veteran of a 20-year career in international oilfield services, which provided him with the opportunity to live and work in the Middle East (including during Gulf War One), mainland Europe and the USA. His experiences have led him to his current and highly influential work in exposing the many layers of global deception. Having chaired the British 9/11 Truth Campaign for two years, Ian moved on to his now ongoing programme of lecturing and set up the hugely successful 'Alternative View' truth conferences, which have played to packed audiences hungry for unfiltered information on the world around them. In 2009, Ian was presented with a special award by Scott Tips of the US National Health Federation for his unceasing work in helping to expose the worryingly restrictive intentions of the global food 'safety' body, Codex Alimentarius.
Ian remains hotly dedicated to continuing to expose the outrageous excesses of 'those who believe themselves to be the rightful rulers of a global fiefdom, ruling a planetary population of co-operative economic slaves'.

Paranormal investigator and ghost-hunter Scott is enthusiastic and passionate about considering the 'After Life' and is particularly intrigued by the enduring and almost universal interest in 'what happens next?' He has discovered that the past 'can come to life when people try to understand death' and he never tires of sitting in the cold and the dark, waiting for the two worlds to touch 'through the veil'. Although '99%' of what he has experienced can be 'logically explained away', it is the 1% that keeps him coming back for more. Scott describes himself as an eternally hopeful sceptic.
Scott previously worked for years in Mental Health (which has given him a useful grounding in human nature) and now runs 'The Spirit Parlour' with his wife (who also works in Mental health as a Nurse Specialist in the NHS). The Spirit Parlour offers evenings of paranormal investigation for the public in wonderful historic buildings. Scott is also an avid collector of local ghost stories and leads spooky walks around the villages of his home county Sussex and beyond.
Scott has a large amount of learning in this field, but is passionate in his belief that so much remains unknown about the unseen world that no one is really an 'expert'; 'there is always something new to learn and understand'.
PRESENTATION: A History of Ghost-Hunting
Scott will talk of what he has experienced and noticed in his time working as a paranormal investigator/historian. Theories about the Supernatural shift, change, return and evolve continuously, but what remains as constant is an abiding and seemingly universal interest and concern for the unseen and the uncanny. Scott will attempt to describe and chart the journey of the pioneers of 'ghost hunting', from the flock-walled Victorian parlours, where tables tipped and mediums moaned forth ectoplasm, to the present day state of multi-media fascination, high-tech gadgetry and internet obsession. He will offer real life 'evidence' of life everlasting, suggesting both logical and more mysterious interpretations. Scott believes there is more to learn and understand than will ever be known, but hopes that his words may inspire people to be a little more intrigued by 'What Happens Next?'

BARRIE TROWER:
 Barrie trained in microwave research for the military when he worked with the underwater bomb disposal unit of the Royal Navy. He then spent eleven years 'de-briefing spies' involved in stealth microwave warfare during the Cold War, before becoming a campaigner on the detrimental health effects of electronic communications, such as mobile phones and wireless internet services.
With two degrees in physics, Barrie is author of several papers, including The TETRA/Airwave Report for the Police Federation of England and Wales, and an update of the same report, recently published, which deals with the potential dangers of the frequencies used by the police communications network. He is also scientific advisor to five organisations, including the Radiation Research Trust, and also represents two environmental campaigns.

Barrie outlines the growing deep concerns about the health effects of pulsed microwave radiation emitted from technologies such as Wi-Fi, mobile phones and transmission masts. What are the real issues around these, and what is the potential harm to us, bees and nature in general?

Dutch native Bert is an award-winning author, researcher and world traveller who has appeared in numerous documentaries and on radio and TV shows. His interest in the power of shapes, form, harmony, and geometry has led him into the mysterious world of crop circles, Gothic Cathedrals, and ancient sites. He travels all over the world to study, photograph and record these mysteries on film, which has led to the production of three documentaries. Bert has written many articles on the subject of crop circles, the geometry behind them, and how the landscape of England plays its part in this great crop circle enigma. Christopher is an English journalist and author. He was educated at the Dragon School in Oxford, Shrewsbury School and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where he read history. His parents founded the elite girls' school Knighton House. He has been described by James Delingpole in The Spectator as doing 'the kind of proper, old-school things that journalists hardly ever bother with in this new age of aggregation and flip bloggery: he digs, he makes the calls, he reads the small print, he takes up the cause of the little man and campaigns, he speaks truth to power without fear or favour'. Booker is also well-known for holding contrarian views on a number of topical issues, including global warming, the link between passive smoking and cancer, and Intelligent Design. In 1961, he was one of the founders of the magazine Private Eye, and he now regularly contributes to major British broadsheet newspapers, especially the Sunday Telegraph, and is never far from controversy.
PRESENTATION: The Real Global Warming Disaster
Christopher outlines the concerns expressed in his controversial book The Real Global Warming Disaster, and explores further his claims in his long-running column in the Sunday Telegraph that 2008 was 'the year man-made global warming was disproved', amid 'a turning point in the great worldwide panic over man-made global warming', and that government policy aimed at dealing with this issue will be ruinously expensive.

Palden is a humanitarian working in Bethlehem, Palestine, an author, editor, webmaster and 'general purpose soul-implant and troublemaker on a weird world called Planet Earth'. A sixties veteran 'who never quite got over it, been at it for years and as yet unfinished', Palden is an old friend of the Symposium, a former longterm resident of Glastonbury now living in Cornwall, and author of Living in Time, The Only Planet of Choice and Healing the Hurts of Nations. His latest book, Pictures of Palestine, is due out in 2011.
PRESENTATION: Will They Still Serve Tea in 2023?
In his role as Symposium veteran and 'social philanthropist', Palden will apply his work as a Middle East peacemaker, humanitarian, historian and philosopher to examine the current spiritual and social zeitgeist and to map out his insights into what might be unfolding through the rest of the Twenty-First Century. An ad lib speaker, he might even drop in some thoughts on why investigating crop formations is rather similar to negotiating with 'Muslim extremists', and a few other surprises.
LUCY PRINGLE:

Lucy was a founder member of the Centre for Crop Circle Studies and is Chairman of UNEX (Unexplained Phenomena Research Society). Widely known as a crop circle photographer and an international authority on the subject, she is also a pioneer researcher into the effects of electromagnetic fields on living systems. This includes the physiological and psychological effects reported by people after visiting or being in the vicinity of a crop formation, as well as animal behaviour, remote effects, luminosities, mechanical failures and audio effects. Her research shows measured changes in human hormones following short exposure to the circles, and also changes in brain activity.
Lucy has appeared many times on TV and is the author of Crop Circles: the Greatest Mystery of Modern Times (1999), Crop Circles: The Pitkin Guide (2002) and Crop Circles: Art in the Landscape (2007).

THE AVALONIAN FREE STATE CHOIR:

Patty Greer had been known as a singer, songwriter, pianist and harpist for over 30 years. In 2007 she came to England seeking a 'different kind of healing' and laid down in the centre of a crop circle. Within two weeks she had taken more than 1,100 photos of crop formations and attended the Glastonbury Symposium. She decided to interview a few speakers there, along with the passionate 'croppies' she met in the fields day after day. Patty hired a UK film crew and created her crop circle film The Wake Up Call - Anybody Listening? with no previous experience or training. Six months later she made a full feature documentary on UFOs. Six months after that she made her movie on 2012, which will be shown this evening. Her world has now turned to full time editing and filming and 'being enveloped by the magic of the unseen worlds'. Her original music fills the soundtracks as she delivers heavy material with a feminine touch.
Patty's work was recognized by winning the prestigious 2009 'EBE Award - Best Feature Film - UFO Or Related' at the International UFO Congress Film Festival. She also won the '2009 Silver Sierra Award' at the Yosemite Film Festival for the 2010 movie. FILM and DISCUSSION: 2012 - We're Already In It
The 2010 Glastonbury Symposium will be the European World Premier of this wonderful, positive and illuminating movie about the 2012 Mayan Prophecies and the scientific probabilities, seen through the eyes of well-studied experts and 2012-ologists, as filmed in the UK.

JOHN DALTON:

John Dalton is a renowned player of harp and wind instruments. Although he began with Celtic harp, John Dalton has very eclectic tastes and soon began to enjoy the instrument's wider repertoire: Latin American, medieval, classical, jazz, world folk music and much else. He has made three CDs and is working on a fourth. Long interested in the esoteric aspects of music and the other arts, he was formerly assistant editor of Guitar magazine, editor of New View and Avalon magazines, and managed Rudolf Steiner Press in the 1990s. He also sings and plays woodwind and electric guitar in The Dalton Gang.

Rod Bearcloud Berry, world-renowned vision seeker/seer and artist has spent a lifetime painting hidden layers of inspiration and messages of the Earth, and is renowned in the crop circle world for his beautiful analyses of the geometry and form of the phenomenon. Geoff has been studying the meaning of the year 2012 since 1982. Around 1996, he started to compile the information into a stapled booklet called Beyond 2012. In 2000 he made it available on the internet via his website Diagnosis 2012. Since then the website has become renowned as the most comprehensive database available on 2012, and has gathered input from every corner of the globe.
In 2005, Beyond 2012 was published as a full book and has gone on to become the definitive guide, acclaimed by many as the best available overview of the 2012 phenomenon. Geoff has given presentations across Britain and in countries as far afield as Finland, the USA and Peru. He is also author of The Mayan and Other Ancient Calendars and the mini-guide 2012 in Your Pocket, and has contributed articles for Caduceus, New Dawn, Hera and other magazines. Andrew has also been involved in investigating the link between Wilhelm Reich's 'orgone energy' experiments and the energetic properties of crop circles, as explored in his book The Circlemakers (recently updated as The New Circlemakers).
