About the Glastonbury Symposium

The Glastonbury Symposium is one of England's longest-established and acclaimed 'alternative' conferences, where the audience is often as interesting as the speakers!

Held in the unique environs of the fascinating and varied town of Glastonbury in Somerset, the Symposium has grown and evolved massively since its inauguration at the Blue Note Café in 1990.

From there it soon moved on to the larger Assembly Rooms, and eventually to its current home, the grand setting of Glastonbury Town Hall.

Delegates from all around the globe gather annually each summer for this delightful three-day event to hear presentations on many areas from the very best speakers in the 'new frontiers' field, together with performances to brighten up the day.

Consciousness research, new science, truth campaigning, sacred sites, earth energies, Egyptology, 'forbidden' archaeology, UFOs, psychic phenomena, healing, metaphysics, sacred geometry, dowsing and all points in-between have been explored over the years, together with a continuing discussion of the mysterious crop circles - our original focus - because no matter who or what makes them, they continue to inspire many.

Glastonbury Town Hall is made resplendent with banners and lighting, and our professional audio-visual facilities ensure that our speakers are well seen and heard.

Presented in a warm, welcoming atmosphere, with humour and a twinkle in the eye, people often speak of the wonderful times they have had at the Symposium and the astonishing things they have learned. For many, it is their year's centrepiece - spiritual battery-charging!

The warm mood of the event also extends to our room of stalls, featuring books, photos, information and merchandise, where delegates can browse and chat away to their heart's content, mixing with the fascinating and eclectic group of researchers, speakers and other people drawn to the Symposium.

Our in-house café allows further interaction, where good food is served in a congenial atmosphere. This atmosphere spills out into the town during longer breaks, where delegates explore the sights, shops, cafes and pubs within a short walk of the Town Hall. Glastonbury is an intriguing and colourful place.

For some, the Symposium is a four-day event: on the eve of the conference some take the official Thursday Symposium coach trip out to some of the latest crop formations and sacred sites in the heartlands of Wiltshire.

On the Sunday afternoon, the main schedule of the Symposium is concluded with a beautiful closing meditation in the nearby grounds of Glastonbury Abbey.
